I need help with a book title?

It's an old book, I read it probably 8 to 10 years ago. Its basically about this young kid, I want to say his name is mack, and he's adopted I believe, but his mom is pregnant and he thinks its like a goblin or a gremlin or something like that, and he has paranoid visions about it. I hope someone can help me with the title.
