I'm looking for a movie that i started watching towards the end of about a little girl who gets locked up in b?

the little girl abused by her aunt and cousins, locked up in the basement-she begins to 'dream' of escaping and connects with her parents who are circus performer, but really has enough strength to climb the steps and eventually dies...help. It's set in a 60s-70's setting. It was on cinemax/showtime about 4 +/- weeks ago.
