Placement of drums on the electric kit?

I just bought an electric drum set and I put the drums on the bars somewhat randomly. I am know sure if the snare and the tom toms etc are supposed to be in a certain area of the drums or not. This is my first time playing. Can someone help me out here? Thank You!
